How to choose Suspension and Lateral files
Do you know the difference?
When you work in a busy office, it is important to keep your files in order. Piles of paperwork left lying on desks give a bad impression, pose the risk of exposing confidential information, and are likely to make simple tasks more challenging and time consuming.
That’s why we have put together the following helpful suspension file buying guide to give you all of the information you need to make the right decision for your business filing needs. Firstly, you need to decide whether you require a suspension file. If so, the next step is to determine the correct size, A4 or Foolscap. You may need a suspension file with a V shaped bottom which will hold up to 150 sheets of paper or something more substantial which will hold between 300 and 500 sheets of paper.
Alternatively, you may want a lateral file which take up less interior space and are perfect for smaller offices. These come in manilla or polypropylene and are suitable for everyday filing needs. Make sure to also take note of the weight capacity of each file and select the appropriate option for your storage needs. This will prevent any tearing and damages.
